Music
Emmanuel is blessed with a talented, musical congregation.
Music is an essential part of our Sunday morning worship at 10:00 a.m. Our choir inspires us with a broad range of music—everything from traditional hymns to spirituals and contemporary expressions. The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. There are no auditions—everyone is welcome to join.
For Christmas and Easter services, the choir prepares a more extensive musical repertoire. Often other parishioners who cannot commit to singing on a weekly basis join the choir for these services, filling our sanctuary with the joyful noise of these special seasons.
On occasion, we host evening concerts and special performances offered by guest musicians, such as a recent performance of Renaissance choral music by the vocal octet, Ars et Amici. In addition, several of our choir members sing with the auditioned choir Magnificat!, which performs services of Evensong at churches throughout our diocese each month.
