April Soul Supper - LGBTQ+ Allyship Training
Thursday, April 10, 2025
Emmanuel Episcopal Church in downtown Wakefield invites the community to join us for a monthly free dinner and learning event: “Soul Suppers.” The program meets on the second Thursday of the month and offers an opportunity to share a meal in community and then to learn something new together.

This April, our Soul Supper will feature a special LGBTQ+ allyship training, led by Tate Duffy, Training Manager for Greater Boston PFLAG.
Over a shared meal, we will come together for fellowship, learning, and meaningful conversation about how we can better support LGBTQ+ individuals in our church, families, and wider community.
What to Expect:
✅ Free Community Dinner (6:00 – 6:45 PM) – A time to gather, connect, and enjoy a meal together.
✅ LGBTQ+ Allyship Training (6:45 – 7:45 PM) – Learn key terminology, understand gender identity and expression, explore transgender experiences, and gain tools for being an active ally.
✅ Practical Takeaways – Discover simple ways to foster inclusivity in everyday interactions.
✅ Open & Welcoming Atmosphere – Whether you’re new to these conversations or looking to deepen your understanding, this event is for everyone.

To help us plan for food, please RSVP if attending in person.

“Come gather with friends for a simple supper and learning! The topics will range over many subjects, varying every month. Subjects will cover social justice, Scripture, and seasonal fun,” said the Rev. Brett R. Johnson, Emmanuel’s Rector. “God longs to feed us—in every way!”
